Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Launches New Irish Banking Network 18/01/2006
Bank of Scotland (Ireland) has opened a major new Irish retail banking network.
In total, 46 branches will open over the next 14 months.
Bank of Scotland (Ireland) will open approximately three branches every month for the next 14 months. The first three branches opened this week in Limerick, Ballyfermot, and Dun Laoghaire.
Telephone banking will be available to customers through the Group's new customer service centre in Dundalk. Online banking will follow next year.
The new banks feature significantly Longer Opening Hours.
Each Bank of Scotland (Ireland) branch will be open at least from 9am to 5pm from Monday through to Friday.
All branches will be open on Saturday from 9am to noon. Some branches in major city centres and shopping centre locations will be open for even longer.
Market research, carried out by Lansdowne Market Research on behalf of Bank of Scotland (Ireland), shows that Irish customers want convenient opening hours that reflect their working lives rather than the traditional management practices of their existing bank.
James Crosby, Group Chief Executive, HBOS, says:
"Ireland is one of Europe's most outstanding economies. The economy is in very good shape and the outlook is good. Our strategy is about giving Irish banking customers value for money and our shareholders a better return. Bank of Scotland (Ireland) will do just that."
Each of the 46 Bank of Scotland (Ireland) branches will be laid out in a modern, retail style format. They will mostly be located in convenient Main Street or shopping centre locations.
